Alternative Finance Conference in Toronto

On October 4th and 5th, I had the opportunity to contribute as a panelist at DealFlow Media's Alternative Finance Conference. The Alternative Finance Conference took place at the Fairmont Royal York in Toronto. Speakers at the conference included representatives from national law firms, the TSX venture exchange, financial specialists, charter accountants, and many other professionals specializing in alternative finance.

The discussions that took place at the conference were deeply informative and included topics as diverse as:
  • Listing on the TSX Venture Exchange
  • Assessing Asian capital through dual listing on the Hong Kong Exchange
  • How the JOBS Act will affect capital raising for small companies
  • Structured debt financing for Private & Public Canadian companies
  • Fundamental acquisitions of Foreign properties by TSXV issuers utilizing special warrant financings
I personally discussed Alternative IPO's & Reverse Takeovers with three other panelists.

DealFlow media put together a great event and I was happy to take part.

Business in Vancouver Profile

Last year, I had the privilege of being interviewed by Nelson Bennet for a profile in Business in Vancouver.

Nelson's article was comprehensive and features sections about my early career in law, my entry into securities law, my involvement in Bacchus Law and some of the secretes behind the firm's success. I was proud to be featured in the article and thought that it would be worthwhile to include here.

CSNX Video Featuring Attorney Penny Green

Included in this post, is a link to a video of myself discussing the listing requirements for the CSNX: an innovative new stock exchange. The CNSX’s unique market model matches enhanced disclosure and streamlined issuer regulation with leading edge technology and comprehensive regulatory oversight. This allows the exchange to better meet the needs of public companies, their investors and investment dealers.

As a Vancouver-based securities lawyer with over 15 years of experience helping companies go public, it is refreshing to work with an exchange as forward thinking as the CNSX.
